The Story of Bijasan Mata Temple Indergarh

Long ago, the region around Indergarh in Bundi district of Rajasthan was full of dense forests. Far away from this forest, a saint, Baba Kripanath Ji Maharaj, resided. He was a big follower of Goddess Durga and wished to see her. Therefore, he began praying with strong faith.

The Saint’s Hard Penance
Baba Kripanath sacrificed all. He was not concerned with food, water, or time. He would just sit in meditation and pray to the Goddess day and night. Seasons went by, but he never discontinued his penance. His prayers became so intense that even the wild creatures of the forest approached him and felt calm.

A Divine Light Appears

One day, as Baba was deep in meditation, a brilliant golden light filled the entire forest. The brightness was so intense that everything around glowed like gold.

Though Baba’s eyes were closed, he could feel the divine energy. When he opened them, Bijasan Mata stood before him.

She looked radiant and powerful, with a calm and kind expression. She held divine weapons, and a heavenly glow surrounded her. Overwhelmed with devotion, Baba bowed down before her.

The Blessing of the Goddess

The Goddess smiled and spoke,
“My child, I am pleased with your prayers. You possess sincere devotion. I bless this spot. Anyone praying to me here with an unblemished heart will have their desires granted.”
